Read Roald Dahl rewrites: edited language in books criticised as ‘absurd censorship’ by Guardian staff reporter

I’m sure there is a balance yet to be found but having read some older books to my children some of the language is “awkward” to say the least. Stuff like East Asian characters described as having “yellow” skin. If I read that to them verbatim it results in a completely unnecessary conversation
